My name is Daniel Jones and I am a Life Scout with Troop 271 in Cedar Park, Texas. I am working with a local veteran’s service organization, Heroes Night Out, for my Eagle Scout project.
Heroes Night Out is a 501(c)(3) (EIN - 80-0234988) organization that offers services and support to Veterans in the greater Austin, Texas area.
Just a few of the services Heroes Night Out provides are; counseling, veterans support group, holiday meals, a computer center, relocation counseling, access to a VA claims specialist, and access to a VA home loan specialist. One of the most impressive things I have noticed about Heroes Night Out is the way they strive to support the families of our veterans.
They have a family room dedicated to the children of the veterans using the resource center that has a TV, video games, books and even a foosball table; plenty of things for the kids to do while their parents are involved with the services they need from the center. Unfortunately, there is no storage in the family room and it is difficult for the limited staff of Heroes Night Out to keep up with what they do have.
My project is to install cabinets along one wall of the family room to provide storage for all the supplies and games and books and stuff the kids use while they are there. Local businesses are stepping up to help provide some of the materials for my project. My fellow scouts and I along with a few other volunteers will be finishing, staining and lacquering, the cabinets as well as performing the installation (with some professional guidance, of course).
While these businesses are actively involved in supporting Heroes Night Out, they cannot donate all the materials needed for a project of this size. This is where I need your help. With the modest goal of $1,750.00, I know we can help this amazing organization better serve our heroes. While I personally appreciate your support, I want to emphasize that what your donation will do to help our veterans and their families is what really matters.

My timeline for this project is the first weekend of August, so please tell your friends and neighbors about my project and ask them to help.
