Daniel Depner's Lyme Treatment

Donation protected
This is Dr. Dan, best known as the family physician that seemed to always take care of everybody who needed help with all their health concerns. From a concussion on the ski hill, to an "accidental" BB shot wound to the leg, to a thorn in the head, to my broken foot, broken nose, and stitches in my hand. The stories never end, and we all know how Dr. Dan likes to tell the stories too haha.

Unfortunately, Dan has contracted chronic Lyme disease. Yes, chronic Lyme,  otherwise referred to as Post-treatment Lyme Disease. This is a severe and debilitating condition for which there is extreme controversy over the causes, conditions, treatments, and prognosis.  Some of his symptoms consist of neurological impairments resembling neurodegenerative disease, tremors, weakness, pain, chronic fatigue, and depression to name a few. Due to the symptoms and severity of disease Dan had to leave his lifetime career as a Physician Assistant and the clinical practice that he helped maintain for nearly 30 years. While Dan contracted Lyme many years ago, his treatment plans and regimens have failed, time and again. To complicate matters more, given the controversy over chronic Lyme, insurance companies do not cover treatment costs, and research funding is incredibly limited, leaving patients to commonly navigate this disease and any potential treatments on their own.

In light of his years of treatment failures, Dan is now undergoing treatment at a Lyme specialty clinic, Envita, in Scottsdale Arizona. Our posting of this account is three-fold. 1) The medical costs associated with treatment are considerable and completely paid for out of pocket. If you wish to donate to this fund, all donations will directly go to the sole beneficiary Daniel Depner to help his medical bills for the two months he is living at the treatment center. 2) It is our goal to increase awareness to the spread of Lyme disease, the seriousness and severity of the disease, and the controversy surrounding diagnosis and treatment of chronic Lyme, and to make it known there are Lyme specialists and there are options for patients with Lyme disease, this disease does not have to define you as a person. 3) Dan is about 3 weeks into his 8-9 week treatment plan and he is doing well. Although, some of the treatments are very taxing and leave him feeling drained and more sick than normal, any support, even a simple text message for him or his wife Roberta Depner are greatly appreciated.

Thank-you for reading and for your support.
