Daniel and Ivie's medical expenses

Daniel and Ivie (Wife), both 23, parents and college students with very little income, have been faced with a difficult trial. Daniel has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. It is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. 

After spending 5 days in the ICU receiving treatment, it was apparent Daniel’s condition was worsening. He has been transferred to a larger hospital’s ICU where there are more specialist doctors to help him. He could be in the ICU for months.

Upon discharge from the hospital, there will be months of recovery to help him learn how to use his body again. He is experiencing complete paralysis at the moment and it often takes months of therapy to regain normal function. He has been placed on a feeding tube and the hope is that his breathing does not decrease to the point he will need a respirator which is common for patients with his condition.

Their bills are piling up and I know how worried they both are to face them. It is a long journey ahead, but with the love and support of family and friends Daniel and his family will get through this!
