Update: On Monday 8th February 2016 Emma had to have an emergency MRI for suspected Meningitis.
It wasn't Meningitis. Although the cancer has disappeared from her torso, it has moved to her brain and her oncologist has given her 1 or 2 months.
So, now everything has changed Emma would like to make some lovely memories with her children.
Here is where you come in....
Can you please help us by offering help in whichever form you are able to help us create those memories.
Emma would love to take the kids to a cabin by a lake even for a few days and wake up to look out over that lake and spend some precious time together.
A friend of ours knows of such a cabin by a lake that's not too far away, can you please help us to make this come true?
Thankyou so much
Sue (Emma's mum)
The following is the original story.....
Meet my daughter Emma
, she's 34 and has 2 children aged 4 and 10.
On 23 December 2014 Emma was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer, as you can imagine the Season of Goodwill became null and void for the whole of our family...
On 16 January 2015 the diagnosis had changed to Stage 4, which had now spread to her lymph, liver and lungs. We were all devastated.
Emma chose to follow the conventional route of chemo for 3 cycles. After the first cycle she lost her hair and had all the side effects usual for at least 10 sessions of chemo, according to her nurses when she was admitted to hospital for 10 days...
She was sent home with a hospital bed and 6-8 months of 'palliative chemo' to look forward to. The doctors were not hopeful and told us to do whatever we wanted with her..
I am her mother, and to be honest I wasn't ready to let her go, no matter how little time they had said she had left with us, and neither were her 2 sisters - most importantly, neither was Emma! She has so much to stick around for. :)
I remembered an old remedy used by an uncle of juicing 2 kilos of organic carrots daily, and also heard of Essiac Tea on the grapevine. ( I have now learnt the science behind these remedies) You can read all about it on my blog at Dancing with the Big C
After 3 sessions of chemo Emma chose to spend what little time she had left with her children without any more chemo side effects, and to move back to Plymouth where she had grown up. She wanted 'to go home'.
Today is 7th August 2015, Emma's last scan showed that the cancer had almost disappeared, just a tiny bit left in her liver. :) When we were shown her original scan from January we could see nothing but cancer in her liver... What an amazing improvement!!!
The whole family has been on an emotional journey since 23 December, and the roller coaster journey is not finished yet.
This is where I am asking you for help.
Emma's medical team are convinced that the cancer will reappear at any moment with a vengeance, I however have a more optimistic belief.
I now live with Emma and make her juices and smoothies and nutritional meals every day to build up her immune system (that was non-existent during the chemo regime). I have learnt a lot, I am even studying to become a nutritionist as so many people have questioned me about Emma's rapid cure using natural alternatives to chemo, as well as how to support themselves whiilst having ongoing chemo treatments.
We are also setting up a Support Group for people in our local area of Plymouth, UK - to help share the information that we have learnt during our own dance with the Big C.
Buying a constant stream of organic foods, Essiac Tea and other natural remedies for Emma all adds up, can you please help us to maintain her wellbeing?, as well as save up to take Emma on a retreat that addresses her nutritional needs during this time, and teaching me how I can help her for the best?
It would be amazing if we could raise enough to get the Support Group up and running to help others who are desperate to learn more about supporting their own bodies throughout their own vulnerable journies of dancing with the Big C, whether that's a conventional route or a more natural route, or a combination of the two.
I would really appreciate you sharing  my Blog that talks about our journey so far at Dancing with the Big C
Thank you so much for sparing your time to read our story. :)
If there is anything I can do to help you please do not hesitate to contact me.
