Dancing Cancer Away

My name is Elizabeth Hammil. My hobbies were rock climbing, dancing, swimming, and singing. When I turned 23 in 2016 I finished my school at Recording Engineer Institute and got my certification in Audio Engineering and it felt like the best day of my life. In the beginning of 2017 two job opportunities of a life time presented it's self. I got asked to engineer for a new and upcoming radio station and I got asked to hiphop dance professionally for the first time in my life. That is when i got the diagnosis. Cancer, specifically osteogenesis sarcoma (bone cancer). It was at stage 3 already with a massive tumor in my left shoulder and half of the bone in my arm had been taken over by this disease..Now the doctor is telling me all physical activities need to stop due to the high risk of me ripping open the tumor and the cancer spilling into my body. So I needed to let go of the dance job. Not a week later I was put in an aggressive chemo regiment to treat the aggressive tumor growing in me. Due to the fact that I need to stay in the hospital for three weeks at a time each month, with 2 days off in between chemo sessions, I needed to turn down dream job number 2. On June 16, I got put down for 13hrs so they could remove the tumor in my arm. This was supposed to be a start to recovery and I woke up to more bad news. Not only was the bone left not strong enough to put in a full joint replacement, forcing them to take my left pectoral muscle from my chest to wrap around the ball to keep it in place. However, my luck, by cutting me open they found that the cancer had reached stage 4 and spread to my nerve and deltoid muscle, forcing them to remove those as well. Now without the deltoid I was told I'd never have full control over my arm again and will be forced to be on disability for the rest of my life. I felt like my world crashed, all the activity I love, all things I was good at and made me feel good about myself seemed so far away. I Experienced depression because of that and the way my body now looks disfigured. I fought a lot of the depression with friends and family and honestly being in the pediatric unit and seeing how young these kids fight this disease. Still fighting to stay positive, now I'm being told due to the fact that they found me in stage 4 and the fact it originated from my bone marrow there is a high risk of my disease turnning into leukemia.  Now I am forced to still take chemo but twice the amount of chemo each visit. I am coming to this site and asking friends, family, and strangers with big hearts to help me reach my goal so I can payback medical bills that have already gone into collections and money towards the major surgery and physical therapy I'm going to need to get my arm back in full working condition so I can feel like my best self again. I don't want to live off disability for the rest of my life and I will be devastated if I truly couldn't rock climb, dance, crossfit, ect., just be active, due to the fact that I couldn't get the use in my arm back. My credit has been effected because of this, I can't get anyone to hire me so I can start paying off some of it, so the interest is just building on some of my bills. They keep finding reasons to cut my health insurance making me miss or pay out of pocket and have issues with getting admitted for chemo, I don't have a car so I need to pay to get rides to and from doctors offices, hospital, cancer center, county offices. For some reason they will only give me 16$ in food stamps, who can live off 16$ worth of food? On top of paying for medication and rent. I am in desperate need of help and a good friend of mine suggested this site so here I am. All I can say if your still reading this is thank you for hearing my story and if you can't dontae then do something nice for someone today for me :].
