Get Dan to Mix with the Masters!

OK, folks...here's the situation. Dan Bee has been selected to attend a week long training program with the infamous Steve Albini. Only 10 people were chosen to attend this week long program. The only catch is it's in France. Yes, France! I absolutely knew in my heart he would be chosen because Dan is an extraordinarily talented music, mixer, and masterer. Dan has been perfecting his art for 20 years now. Music is his passion, his life, and a huge part of his soul. If anyone deserves this, it's Dan. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and as much as we dislike asking for help with the funds to get him there, I don't want to see this opportunity pass him by. My name is Dan Bobek, I am a sound engineer, producer, musician, and step father of 2 now grown, fantastic people. I work at my own home studio in IA, run sound at local venues, as well as facilitate a weekly open mic encouraging artists to get up and share what they love to do. Most of my recording is done remotely, working with the artists on their own turf where they feel the most comfortable. I am currently working on opening a public recording studio where I can work with artists thoughout the entire process in person rather than sending mixes back and forth through email.
I recently saw an opportunity online and decided to go for it. The next thing I knew, my application to attend a seminar called Mix with the Masters had been approved! This is a seven day event with no more than 15 people in attendance during an actual studio session with an amazing and legandary engeneer of the music industry, Steve Albini. Steve has recorded and mixed some of my favorite albums such as Nirvana, Jawbreaker, The Pixies, PJ Harvey, Bush, and countless others. He is a longtime mentor of mine (without ever meeting him) and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not only would I get to watch him work, but I would get one on one time with him for citique and tips for projects I have worked on.
The seminar takes place in a beautiful studio in the South of France. It costs 4000 euros which includes room and board, but not travel, passport, etc.
The deposit is $1000.00 US and due ASAP, the remainder due in January 2017, the seminar is in February.
I know I am pushing it right to the limit of possibility, but this would absolutely mean the world to me, Steve Albini has always been an inspiration of mine. He combines technical skill and amazing ears using all analog equipment to document the music he records. His work is incredible.

I have never tried anything like this, but I am going to be selling everything I can possibly part with, working extra long and hard, as well as looking to anyone and anything I can for help. I am making this campagn an "All or None" deal, because it is such a hurry, and if this totally fails, it will have been worth a try but I don't want to put anyone out.
