Our family is going through the most difficult time of our lives. A time where my mother should be decorating our house with her traditional "Christmas tree in every room" exuberance, she is instead suffering greatly. At the beginning of this month my mother, Dana Stonesifer, began to have some trouble with her liver. It was discovered that the fourth round of chemotherapy had not worked, and the cancer had progressed to the point that her liver has been completely taken over.
Her deterioration has been so sudden, we are all in shock, and are having a tremendously hard time coping.
At this point there is nothing more that the doctors can do for her. We have explored every option available. Her liver no longer drains, building toxins into her body. She is no longer conscious majority of the time.
She has now returned home from the hospital, and will need constant care until she passes, as she is no longer able to do anything without assistance and will continue to deteriorate.
We understand that she was loved by so many people, and you will all be as sad, angry, and totally devastated for the loss of her from your lives and would like to show your support for her in some way. I have set up this GoFundMe page in order to help my father with the cost of her care, family needs, as well as future expenditures for her funeral expenses. In lieu of flowers, food...etc. if you would like to help our family during this difficult time I encourage your to make a donation this will be the most helpful.
As many of you know my mom, Dana, was a giver. If you needed her, she would be there for you. She always went above and beyond for people but never asked for the same to be done for her in return. Her way of making your feel special on even the smallest occasions was a rare gift. She will leave behind myself- her daughter, two sons -one of which is a freshman in high school, and her beloved husband. We are in so much pain, and have to watch as our mother suffers, knowing she will never be around for us or another holiday again. Her presence is the foundation of our family, and family is everything to my mom, there will be a cavern of loss left when she leaves us.
