A tragic loss. Dana Michelle Wilson, 18 years old, was killed when a drunk driver going the wrong way smashed into her car, killing her and her boyfriend. Both just graduated from Laney high school.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Dana, but I worked with her mother, Teddi, for five years. So myself, and all of her friends and coworkers wanted to start this gofundme page to help her out.
Dana, who is pictured in her graduation cap and gown, I am told had the biggest and most infectious smile. She loved the beach, she worked hard and took pride in anything she was doing. She took college courses in high school and worked multiple jobs. She was very sweet, calm and a very nurturing girl and had a very bright future with a wonderful outlook on life.
She was at UNC-C and had just got an apartment and a new puppy with her boyfriend who was also killed in the accident. Her puppy was the only one to survive in the car and is now with Teddi .
All that knew Dana loved her because she was beautiful inside and out and strong just like her mother.
Her mother is a caring, loving, dedicated nurse and our hearts break for her right now. Dana is also survived by her two brothers Gregory and Billy.
We can't imagine what Teddi is going through right now, nobody should have to bury their child. There's nothing we can say at this moment to make her pain go away but what we can do is help her out financially for the expenses she will face with the funeral etc.
