Very Special Gift for You
One of a Kind - White Tara Thangka Print
Message from the Artist
"This White Tara was made with great devotion and in a traditional manner. The original is stretched cotton sized with yak glue. The paint was made from stone pigments mixed with various binders and acrylic paint was used as well. The painting itself is painted in Karma Gadri style, which has greater compositional depth and detail as it combines all other styles, and is also considered a depiction reference of the 'pure land'. The two flowers in front are for my stepfather and mother. During its creation mantras and pujas were performed. When the eyes were 'opened,' referring to the painting of the eyes last to bring the thangka to life, it was done on the first day of the full moon. When done properly, the thangka will be 'alive' and subtle energy emanating from the image will affect the practitioner. If you are to receive one of these images please treat it with respect, devotion, and honor. It will benefit your life." ~ Rin'dzin Prema

What does Dakini Mountain mean?
The Dakini is the principle of enlightened energy in the phenomenal world.
It is the beauty of the natural elements which evoke joy, clarity, dignity, fearlessness, and peace. This appears as the fundamental goodness of the five wisdoms
underlying our own emotions and our environs. When we are fully present and
open, this is the multifaceted wisdom communicated in every felt experience.
The Dakini is also the initiatory principle in Tibetan Buddhism.
It represents enlightenment being revealed in the least expected forms.
As such, it is the ultimate affirmation of the Buddha-nature in every person.
“Dakini Mountain, ” has other meanings as well.
The Dakini is associated with feminine enlightened wisdom. We are in the time
when gender inclusivity is achieving unprecedented manifestations in Buddhism,
with more women involved in every level of training and leadership.
At the same time, in every domain, voices against toxic gender roles are finally being listened to. This is the Dakini principle at its heights - the affirmation of the intrinsic goodness of all beings is being ‘hoisted as a flag, ’ that awakens us all to our natural
Where is Dakini Mountain?
We found the perfect site for Dakini Mountain in the spring of 2018.
Far away from the clutter and pollution of the city, away from wi-fi and cell-towers,
this land presents overwhelming beauty as far as the eye can see.
It offers 35 acres of pine trees and vast vistas.
Yet, an important feature of Dakini Mountain must be its accessibility, so that a busy person with a full life can easily get there.
The property we have found is just twenty minutes from Nevada City and less than
ninety minutes to Sacramento or Reno. It is already off the grid.
It has one lodge already on the property, powered by solar electricity.
It has abundant water from a crystal clear spring which feeds a sixty-gallon per
minute well, pond with island and dock. It has an outdoor kitchen and a majestic,
large park-like lawn for outdoor events. There is a rustic board and batten barn
which will be converted to an event space. There is a ropes course on the site, with
access to endless hiking, mountain biking, equestrian and nordic trails.
It is only thirty minutes to world-class skiing and the city voted as the number one
destination for skiing in the world.
It is now our goal to purchase this property and begin building Dakini Mountain -
with your help.
We are currently beginning Phase 1 (the purchase of the property) as our year-end
fundraiser. Our current goal is to raise $150,000 by Tara Day, January 15th, 2019.
Ngakpa Intl is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization. Your donations are Tax Deductible.
What is the total cost of Dakini Mountain?
Dakini Mountain will be made possible through two main funding sources.
The first is the sale of our center in Berkeley. The equity from the sale will transfer to the new Dakini Mountain site. The second source of funding will be donations.
This is the time of year we usually launch our year-end fundraiser. But this year, we
have expanded the year-end fundraiser to include the purchase of this majestic and
ideal site for our Dakini Mountain dream to come true.

Who are we? Our Mission:
Ngakpa Intl is an international association of Buddhist Yogis founded by
Tibetan Buddhist teacher, scholar, and humanitarian, Pema Khandro.
Our vibrant community trains in the philosophy and practices of Tibetan Buddhist
Yogis, the non-celibate, life-embracing path of Tibetan Buddhism - where deep
spiritual work is balanced with family, work and community.
The emphasis of our practices are simple, direct experiences of wakefulness and
ease. We explore the practical application of Buddhist wisdom in the modern
context, with a specialty in integrating Buddhism wisdom with a dynamic,
We also emphasize nourishing body-mind vitality through natural medicine –
embracing Buddhist wisdom as applied and embodied.
We are dedicated to providing accessible, in-depth Buddhist education for students, teachers, and leaders.
The tone of our community is serious study with a non-sectarian spirit,
in an atmosphere of joyous, down-to-earth warmth and kindness.
We favor a non-dogmatic approach to exploring Buddhist resources with an
emphasis in the value of questions, doubts, diversity, and contradictions.
Our Activities include community-led meditation classes, group retreats, ongoing
phone and online courses, and a seminary for advanced study.
Our Projects include a clinic, three residential urban centers, research to preserve
the history and culture of Buddhist Yogis, support of Ngakpa schools worldwide and sponsoring orphans in the Himalayan border regions.
Our Values: Above all, Buddhism’s goal is to become a wakeful, ethical, and
compassionate human beings. We believe spiritual awakening goes hand in hand
with unraveling the roots of racism, sexism, homophobia, and bigotry of all kinds.
We are committed to ecological sustainability. We interpret Buddhism through
Dzogchen - which sees every being as equal and endowed with buddha-nature.
Our current fundraiser is to found a retreat center dedicated to restoring natural
wisdom and vibrance to body and mind. This project is called Dakini Mountain.
