Dahlia Needs a Tumor Removed!

Donation protected
Dahlia is our six year old Pitty, and she is the kindest, most gentle soul.

Recently, Nick and Elisha took Dahlia to the vet because of a lump between her toes on her left paw.  When taking a cell sample, the vet found an abundance of mast cells (possible cancer cells) inside this lump.  Attempting to treat it as an allergy, Dahlia was on medication for a couple of weeks, but the lump did not go away.  Serveral follow-ups showed persistent presence of the mast cells, and the vet confirmed the lump as a mast cell tumor.

Unfortunately, the only option now is to have the tumor removed and sent out for a biopsy.  Because the tumor does not have well-defined edges, this means amputating the toe the tumor is attached to.

Thankfully, we found the tumor early, but to prevent potential cancer from metastasizing, we need to act quickly.  The biopsy will tell us if the tumor is, in fact, cancerous, and if it has spread.

After a difficult summer financially, we are asking for your help so we can get Dahlia healthy as soon as possible.

If you've ever met Dahlia, you know she is the happiest ray of sunshine.  Even through all of her vet visits and mom and dad being upset, she still has the best, uplifting attitude.  She is such a good girl, and we want to give her the longest life possible.

Any little bit helps.  Thank you!
