Dad fighting for his life after hit & run accident

Pete Ybarra is a loving father of two daughters, Larissa and Lily, a devoted husband to his wife Cathy of 26 years, and a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to countless others. 

On Saturday night, February 9th, Pete was walking in downtown San Marcos with his sister, brother in law, and daughter Larissa. Both Pete and Larissa were the victims of a hit and run driver as they were crossing the street. Pete instinctively protected his daughter, and received the greatest impact from the SUV that struck them. This loving act saved the life of his daughter, but he is now fighting for his own. He’s been in the ICU with a critical brain injury, and during this time, his wife and daughters haven’t left his side, watching over him as he’s always done for them. 

Pete and Cathy have touched so many lives in our community. We want to reach out to the countless friends, family and the community at large, to ask them to assist the family with expenses related to the incident.
