Running Amsterdam Marathon for Ted

Donation protected
On the 21st October 2018, I am running the Amsterdam marathon for the Ted Senior Foundation.

Mental health is an issue that impacts the lives of so many, yet still has a stigma surrounding it which prevents people speaking out when they are so desperately in need of support.

As young males in our early twenties, the greatest risk to our lives is our own mental health. We are more likely to die from our own hand than cancer, road accidents or heart disease. Yet these statistics are just numbers to far too many, including myself until recently.

On the 10th of February, I lost my best friend to suicide. It doesn't seem possible to think that we have lost him forever, and the pain I have experienced and seen in my loved ones is truly horrible. I will miss him every day, but true to the way that Ted lived his life, we will never stop smiling and never stop laughing and make sure that his happy and charming personality is never forgotten.

We are currently in the latter stages of creating a fully fledged charity, the Ted Senior Foundation, in Ted's name. The foundation will aim to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health in universities and offer support to those feeling most alone during what can be a difficult transition from school to university. We aim to create an accessible support network that will offer a range of services depending on the needs of the individual. Please donate, no matter how small, to help us prevent this tragedy happening again.

Many thanks,

Josh
