Jill's Journey

My name is Jill Rosett Konopka.   Recently I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and was scheduled to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction.  Unfortunately I had a reaction to a medication that happens 1% of the time, causing me to go into anaphylactic shock.  Which basically means that my blood pressure went as low as it possibly could go with out going into cardiac arrest.  The results of this has caused extreme financial, emotional and mental stress.  I now have to see an allergist, oncologist and have 2 more surgeries among other appointments.  I will be unable to work through out this entire process.  Between all of my upcoming appointments and 2 pending surgeries, I will either be pre-op or post-op.  I have a very difficult time asking for help, however I live alone and have no income what so ever.  I am already beginning to get behind on all of my bills.  Not to mention the wear and tear on my car traveling out of town for appointments and of course the added gas expense and groceries.As some of you know, I have been blessed with two wonderful sons and 3 beautiful granchildren whom I adore.  My boys have already helped me in every way they possibly can as they both have their own families, my oldest son and his fiance' have a newborn daughter and a step-daughter starting middle school.  My younger son is raising my twin 3 year old grandsons on his own.  Both families live out of state.  I have attempted to maintained a positive attitude through out this entire ordeal and feel that once I have recovered I will be able to help other women who are in my situation.  I believe this outlook has helped me immensely.    My main concern is that all of the financial burden will hamper my physical and emotional recovery.  I have faith that I will make it through all of this and become a stronger more productive member of society so I can resume giving it back.  I have always been a fighter and some of you may agree a bit stubborn, I have no intent to allow this to set me back, I have come too far to stop now!  However I have been taught in order to receive the help I must do the footwork.  It's difficult for me to ask, however it will be more difficult if I don't.  Please find it in your heart to consider donating anything that is comfortable.  Also, as always continued prayers are appreciated.   I'm real good at reciprocating them!  Thank each and every one of you for reading this, and if you know me well, you know I will keep you all updated on my progress.    Bless you all
