Cade's basketball wheelchair
Cade Maynor is an 11 year old boy who loves to play wheelchair basketball and is learning to play tennis. He was tragically injuried June 2011 while swimming in a creek and a tree fell on him. He sustained a brain injury and a spinal cord injury. Since then Cade has been in a wheelchair but he has recovered wonderfully! We introduced Cade to wheelchair sports in April 2012. He started basketball in August 2012. Some of the kids on the team have their own basketball wheelchair, and Cade like any kid wants his own too. However they can get quite costly. Anyone who knows us knows we have other kids too that are equally active as Cade. Anyway point being we are reaching out to see if anyone would like to help us make this reality for Cade. This particular chair would allow Cade to play basketball and tennis in the chair. I know Cade would be so happy if he had his own basketball chair. He wouldn't have to borrow chairs while playing basketball and this particular chair would be specially fitted to him, instead now we use what is available at blaze. Thanks for your time and consideration.+ Read More
I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible!! Thank you so much! He's one happy buddy!
After Cade's md appt today we went to stone mtn to get fitted for Cade's basketball wheelchair at Eagle sports who specializes in making chairs ( the guy is your home town business..just on the other side of atlanta). He said it would be a couple weeks (4-6) and they would call us back for pickup. Anyway he gave us a deal so Cade got to get he fancy wheels and the fancy straps secure him in. Last detail he choose the color navy to match the Atlanta Hawks!! Thanks again for your support I am way more excited than he appears but I know he is gonna love it when he gets his "own" basketball wheelchair!! Thanks everyone!
This is truly amazing!! We met our goal in just two days!! Thank you all for your love and support!! Gonna take Cade Maynor to atl to get fitted tomorrow after his md appt (hopefully if the md don't take too long)!!! I'm so excited for him!!
