Help Brooklyn Layton Heal

Donation protected
I am Brooklyn Laytons mother Peggy.

Brooklyn is 35 years old and was diagnosed with Medulary Thyroid Carsonoma two years ago. He underwent surgery to remove his thyroid and 24 lymph nodes in his neck on the right side. This past year he had a tumor removed from his right shoulder blade on his back. He has now found three lumps in his stomach, pancreas and liver area. He told his doctor, No More Surgery, I want to take a more holistic or natural approach.

Because of the debilitating effects of the cancer and the depression and anxiety that comes with it Brooklyn was forced to quit a job he loves in Colorado and move home to Utah.

Brooklyn has overcome many obsticals in his life starting with his biological mother giving him up for adpotion when he was 4 due to malnutrition, physical and mental abuse. He just wants to live a normal life with good health.

Brooklyn has decided to go to the Optimal Health Institute in San Diego Calif. where he will stay for three weeks and learn how to cleanse and rebuild his body through eating vegan which consists of eating mostly raw vegetables and juicing, colonics, lymphatic stimulation, yoga, meditation and spiritual practices. This Institute teaches how to balance between mind body and spirit. Many Stage four cancer patients report that they have been able to save their own lives by making these lifestyle changes taught at the Optimal Health Institute. There is also counseling available for emotional as well as physical issues.

Yesterday Brooklyn was notified that he’d received a partial scholarship to the Optimum Health Institute (OHI) in San Diego.  for 3-weeks at the end of this month (August 24th 2014). To qualify for the scholarship a person has to be low-income and have an illness that could be fatal or be considered “terminal.” A Doctor must submit paperwook stating this.

The total cost at OHI is expected to be $4,500 for the 3-week stay. With a scholarship it will be less. We are hoping to raise a minimum of $2,000 to cover tuition, transportation, food and housing for one week.

More about Optimum Health Institute (OHI):

People of all spiritual traditions are welcome at OHI to participate in an holistic healing program that emphasizes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

OHI’s guiding principles: “We believe that God created humans as holistic beings with an integrated body, mind, and spirit. We believe we can achieve optimum health when the body is purified, the mind is quieted, and the spirit is renewed. From that place of total integration and wholeness, people are then able to strengthen their connection to God, and are transformed to receive optimum health.”

OHI honors the virtues of love, peace, forgiveness, self-reliance, accountability and true service. OHI believes these values enable people to achieve a natural balance, a reconnection to God, and to cross the bridge to our spiritual path.

I believe that the fasting, prayers, energy, and any donations , will provide him with enough money to do the things requiered for him to heal completely. Anything you can do is appreciated.

Brooklyn has come to realize that as part of his healing process, he needs to allow into his life the love and support from all who know him and is now reaching-out and asking for assistance. There are three of us going to the institute that have health challenges or "opportunities " like the Institute says. Brooklyn, myself and my very good friend Trish Hernandez who is also looking for assistance. If you know Trish, Brooklyn or me and could find it in yor heart to assist with this fund raiser please know that any small amount will help, especially prayers and love .
