Save Nauvoo's Grocery Store
Donation protected
Upon learning that our only grocery store, Duck's Foods, will close in September, citizens of Nauvoo and their friends across the nation are rallying to keep a grocery store in Nauvoo. The Nauvoo Market is being formed to succeed Duck's Foods to continue serving the community with even more products and services than before. Funding is being raised on two fronts. Members of the community are raising $110,000 to lease the store and equipment and greatly expand the inventory.
We are also reaching out across the country to the many "Friends of Nauvoo" to help raise the $40,000 needed for installing a point of sale system with inventory tracking, replacing the leaking roof, installing a new energy efficient lighting system, new checkout lanes and other needed updates to make the Nauvoo Market a vibrant business success to serve Nauvoo's grocery needs for years to come.
Thank you for your friendship and generosity toward this cause. Mayor John McCarty, Alderman Clive Moon and Nauvoo citizens.
