Jed's & Beni's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Most of you know our story,
Jedrek getting diagnosed at 20 months old with a brain tumor that is attached to his optic nerve (Optic nerve giloma) and that he went through chemotherapy for 14 months.. That we continue to monitor him with MRI's that he has every 3-6months. And that the tumors have remained stable for the past 2+yrs (All of the updates and our story is still available on this page).

You also know that big brother Benaiah has the same tumor, but it has remained small and stable for the past 4yrs with no need for treatment, just the MRI's to follow it.

Recently on Benaiah's MRI scan that was done 6 weeks ago, we saw that a new tumor that is growing in the thalamic part of the brain grew almost 10mm in the last 8 month which is pretty significant. (6 weeks ago chemo was recommended as preventative).

But because he wasn't showing any symptoms of this tumor, it was a wait and see type of thing. (and since chemo was just a preventative measure) we wanted to rescan in 6 weeks to see if there would be any changes.

He had an MRI on Friday, March 8th (last week), and we finally got the results. They are still unclear as the Oncologist hasn't seen them yet, but the impressions from the reading says that the tumor continues to grow, but there is less enhancement.

So here we are again..... we are most likely going to have to start chemotherapy for Benaiah to stop the tumor from growing..

We are going to continue to follow our protocol as we have been for the past 4yrs and all that we did when Jedrek was going through chemo (because it worked it practically destroyed Jedreks tumor that wasn't suppose to shrink).

We are continuing to trust God and pray...

We are also asking for support we need it.. As we have not fully healed from the trauma that we went through with Jedrek, adding a new trauma really hurts.

Please pray for our boys and our family, if you are able to support us financially we would greatly appreciate it.

I will update again next week as that is when we will be meeting with Benaiah's oncologist and looking over the scans and making a plan to move forward.

-Thank you.

What is Optic Nerve Gilioma?
It is a rare kind of cancer, usually slow-growing and found in children. It is rarely found in individuals over the age of 20. It has also been associated with the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis Type 1, or NF1

Jedrek is a strong, brave, loving and happy 20 month old boy. We first became concerned when he developed a slightly larger protrusion to his left eye. After several doctor visits and an MRI, it was discovered that Jedrek has optic nerve glioma in his left as well has his right optic nerve. In order to preserve Jedrek’s vision in both eyes, the treatment recommended is chemotherapy. Surgery is not an option as the tumors in his optic nerves can be reduced but cannot be removed by surgery. We are doing everything we can, including diet changes and natural treatment as well as chemotherapy

The treatment recomended is chemotherapy.
 We are doing everything we can, including diet changes and natural treatment as well as chemotherapy.

We also had Benaiah checked as well as he too has NF1, MRI scan showed that he too has optic nerve glioma, the good news is that he is on watch and no treatment is recommended at this time, we just have to wait and see.
 ~~~UPDATE~~~
Jedrek Chemotherapy has been really hard on his body. He gets sick every week after chemo and he has lost 13% of his body weight and is currently on a feeding tube to help him get his weight back up.
We are asking for you to stand with us in prayer and financial support.
~~ UPDATE, 11/28/17~~
As you all know Jedrek has finished his chemo treatment 11/23/16, and he has been done for a year. He continues to get regular MRI's every 3 months to monitor his tumors. Which have remained stable throughout the year, with only minimal growth when we were not doing the cannabis oils for about a month. We since then started the cannabis oil back up and both Jedrek's and Benaiah's tumors remain stable. We are however still taking donation when you can give so that we may continue to keep those tumors stable. And of course, prayers and your support is always welcome. We thank you all for your support throughout the past couple of years.
Thank you for your love, prayer, and support.
