Jorden McClure is a bright-eyed 12 year old boy. He is smart, funny and is as cute as a button. Jorden like any normal boy has dreams and aspirations. He enjoys being in school, hanging out with friends and loves being apart of the Altoona Junior High School Marching Band.
Jorden was born with Larsen's Syndrom. Larsen's Syndrom is a very rare genetic disease that affects his joints and connective tissue. Jorden relies on his wheel chair for mobility and until recently relied on a ventelator as well. His wheel chair and the family van allow him to be part of a world that would otherwise be inaccessible to him.
Sunday night, one of his "keys to freedom" sustained major damage due to an engine fire. The family van, used for Jorden's transportation, has been deemed a total loss. The insurance will pay for a small portion (less than $3,000), but the financial strain associated with the purchase of a new van will take a toll on the family.
I am starting this campaign in hopes that Jorden will be able to continue his activities. The McClure family, is a family of kind and generous people. They give so much to their community and ask for nothing in return. It is time for us to return the favor and help them in their time of need.
