Support Circle Yoga Scholarships

Donation protected
Since the studio was founded in 2003, Circle Yoga has offered scholarships to students with financial need. As we celebrate Circle Yoga’s 15th Anniversary, we are asking co-op members, students, and friends to engage in our mission to bring yoga and mindfulness to all who want to join us. Our goal is to DOUBLE our scholarship fund in 2018 by raising $7000 in contributions through this campaign.

Circle Yoga is committed to providing financial support to adults and kids who want to take part in classes, workshops, summer camp, teacher trainings, and year-long programs at the studio. Historically, a large portion of Circle Yoga scholarship funds have been awarded to people who enroll in our teacher training and year-long programs. These include:

- Every Kid’s Yoga: Teaching Yoga to Kids with Special Needs
- Budding Yogis Teacher Training
- Circle Yoga Teacher Training
- Heart of Mindfulness

Last year we provided $7000 in scholarships. These scholarship dollars supported, for example, half of the trainees in the Every Kid’s Yoga: Teaching Yoga to Kids with Special Needs training. The public school teachers, therapists, and caregivers who take this training work with kids who generally aren’t served through typical kids yoga classes.

Since 2005, we have trained hundreds of kids yoga teachers through our Budding Yogis Teacher Training. Many of the trainees who received scholarship support are now teaching in schools and neighborhoods, including some that have never before had access to yoga and mindfulness. A few have even opened up their own kids yoga studios across the country and the world—from Maryland to Ecuador!

By expanding our scholarship program, we can do more to extend Circle Yoga’s reach far beyond our Northwest DC neighborhood. Your support will help to ensure that people who are passionate about learning to teach, especially yoga and mindfulness for children, will have access to the tools, skills, and support they need to be successful.

You can make a difference!

Beyond the small fee charged by GoFundMe for the transaction, your contribution to this campaign will be used directly for scholarships. Please note that your contribution to the Circle Yoga Scholarship Fund is not tax-deductible. Circle Yoga is a cooperative for-profit business.

Thanks for helping to make this a special anniversary.
