Cycling Without Age WA is a group of volunteers that donate their time to give free rides in the sunshine to the elderly who otherwise can not get out to enjoy the fresh air.
The bike we use to do that is specifically designed and made for this purpose and can take 2 passengers on short trips around their community. This improves their quality of life by getting them re-engaged into the community while enjoying a relaxing time of sunshine and conversation that they can not get any other way..
We are raising funds to have a dedicated bike for the York community as York has a very high percentage of elderly residents and a lot of them are in full time aged care.
The funds will pay for the purchase and maintenance of the cargo bike which is a high quality e-bike with pedal assist.
These bikes are already operating in many countries around the world including 4 bikes in the suburbs of Perth WA..
Your support will improve the lives of many elderly and handicapped people in the York community by giving them access to this much needed community service - getting them out and about on a regular basis in the fresh air and sunshine, enabling them to continue to experience a better quality of life .
