Cycling Without Age Bournemouth
Tax deductible
In November 2017 I became an affiliated member of this exciting scheme and at around the same time Denmark has connected me with a local councillor and both of us worked together to get this fantastic project up and running here in Bournemouth.
We have had our launch in July 2018 and trained some of our volunteer pilots with our first trishaw. Currently we are raising funds to be able to purchase our second trishaw and working very closely with a local charity HOPE in the Community – Churches working together to reduce loneliness and help older people find their place in the community. We feel that Cycling Without Age provides an additional and free service in our local community and meets all the criteria: Support, Help, Advice, Guidance and Assistance.
We had such an amazing response from the local community and I am so thrilled to have this fantastic project here in Bournemouth, we are working with local care homes and I would love to see a fleet of bikes here across the conurbation.
We have set up the Bournemouth Chapter and are seeking funding opportunities and sponsors for trishaw no 2. If you are involved with a company (private or government) who is interested in community, social care and working with the elderly, or if you’re a local business looking to support your local community and are interested in helping us build the Chapter, please get in touch.
Alongside raising the funding for our trishaws we are also seeking volunteer pilots, helpers, passengers as well as and businesses to spread awareness of our exciting project. Together we can make a difference and build new relationships within our community.
