Helping Jordan Fight Cancer

Donation protected

In 2012, after a year of fighting with immigration for my approval, my husband Jordan drove to Canada to pick me up and bring me to my new home in America. Later that year, in December, we got married. It really has been a dream come true! But after 19 months of marriage, my husband has another battle to fight.

In early 2014 he started having stomach pains and some bleeding issues. The symptoms were on and off for a while. But after a few months, in June, the pain got much worse. He was having severe lower stomach pains and a lot of bleeding. After an ER visit and a diagnosis of an intestinal infection, he was refered to a surgeon to have a second look because of "something" they saw on the CT scan. We were confused as to why we were being sent to a surgeon. After meeting with the surgeon, he explained a colonoscopy was needed to find out what was the problem was. He told us not to worry, he didn't think it was anything major.

During the colonoscopy the doctor found a tumor so large they were unable to get past it. They biopsied the tumor. The doctor told us it didn't look good but we would have to wait a few days to find out what it was when the pathology result got back. So about a week later on July 15th, 2014 my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 27.

The past month has felt like a year of waiting. We still don't know what stage Jordan's cancer is because the insurance company denied his PET scan which is the best way of diagnosing the progress and stage of his cancer and its severity. The problem was they couldn't tell on the CT scan if the lymphnodes were enlarged from infection or involved with the cancer. But after finally starting his treatment, he is taking it in stride. He will undergo six weeks of neoadjuvant chemo and radiation before the surgery. He isn't looking forward to surgery at all. After that, there will be six months of chemo, which the doctors hope will knock out any cancer cells that may be left over.

He is just hoping to get through this as a family and be cancer free. I wanted to set up this page to help with the medical bills and to help get him through this with a little less stress.

Thank you so much for reading his story. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by myself, my husband, and our family. Even if you can't donate, we just ask that you keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
