Backpacking the PCT

My husband and I have wanted to backpack the entire Pacific Crest Trail for several years. Due to his service in the military and my being in school it was never possible for us to attempt such a lengthy adventure. Now, however, my husband is finishing his last five months in the military. As he leaves the military and we begin the next stage of our lives we have the perfect opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime.

The Pacific Crest Trail is a backpacking-trail that runs from the California-Mexico border all the way up to the Washington-Canadian border. We will be backpacking the trail beginning at Mount Whitney and going all the way to Canada. This endeavor will take us a total of three and a half months. By the end of the trip we will have walked 1,873 miles and experienced the backcountries of California, Oregon, and Washington. We will be emersed in the beauty of these state's wilderness with no worldly distractions.

We will be carrying all of our supplies with us as we go. We will need sleeping equipment, cooking equipment, clothing, and other survival tools. We plan on resupplying our food every seven days at small towns found off of the trail. Any money given to this adventure will go towards the equipment needed.
