Curtain's Up: We Need a New One
Tax deductible
15 years ago the Franklin Opera House was resurrected after several decades of being used for other purposes. A generation with no knowledge of its storied past was finally able to perform on its stage. A gold-colored drape was installed and has done the job, but it's become stained and its fire-retardant properties have now expired.
The Opera House provides performance space for local schools, dance troupes, the Franklin Footlight community theatre company, and the Franklin Area Children's Theatre. It's time to install a new, inherently fire-retardant curtain that will never need replacement. And we'll purchase a burgundy curtain to match our seating and the other draperies in the auditorium.
Our goal is to replace the curtain in July of 2017. Our $3500 goal is half the cost. Your support will help us preserve funds needed for other purposes.
