Donation protected
To celebrate its 125 years as a core member of the community of South Elgin, Illinois, Community United Methodist Church is raising $15,000 to build a Gathering Pavilion on the west lawn of the church as well as funds to remodel its hospitality room.

The 20' x 30' pavilion (similar to the one shown above) will include the concrete pad, 4' sidewalk leading in from the parking lot, all building materials and picnic tables built by an Eagle Scout nominee.

Picture below shows progress on the project as of the end of May, 2017.  The foundation is set and the tables are built!

The pavilion will allow CUMC to better serve the community of South Elgin though Summer Food Programs, Food Pantry distributions, Boy and Girl Scouting events, Summer School programs, Sunrise Services and other special Church events.

Church members handing out free lunches to the community as part of its Summer Food Program, in sponsorship with the Northern IL Food Bank.

In addition, anyone in the community of South Elgin and surrounding areas will be able to rent the pavilion to host their own family events.
The remainder of the funds will be used to remodel CUMC's hospitality room, which serves as the church's central meeting place and activity hub.  This room is used every Sunday to offer donuts and coffee to hungry church members, and various groups use it as an informal meeting place to chat and catch up.
Please consider donating to these meaningful projects that to help

CUMC to continue its mission-based work throughout South Elgin and the greater Methodist Church community!
     Thank you!
