Drones for Cuban Crocodiles

Recent storms have changed the Cuban Crocodile habitat in uncertain ways, and local researchers lack the means to assess damage to include influx of American Crocodiles that hybridize with the Cuban Crocodiles.  

Kashmir World Foundation (KwF) has been developing custom drones for conservation and protection of endangered species worldwide. KwF's mission is to educate, train and equip local biologists with custom drones for researching, monitoring and protecting for wildlife.  Funds are urgently required to support an aerial survey of Cuban Crocodile habitat. Kashmir Robotics autonomous aerial systems are capable of performing relevant surveys, but to comply with Cuban laws they must be assembled and operated by Cubans. To accomplish this, a Fly for Conservation Workshop will be will be hosted at Cuban Crocodile breeding center on drone design, assembly, operation, maintenance, and optimization.

This unanticipated emergency project requires funding to host a Fly for Conservation workshop for Cuban Biologists and conduct a  fact-finding mission expedition with Cuban partners at the Zapata Swamp Cuban Crocodile Captive Breeding Farm to survey the Cuban Crocodile habitat in the Zapata Swamp using unmanned aerial systems built and operated by Cuban Researchers and trained by KwF Drone Engineering Team.
