A FORMER PARTNER, COLLEAGUE AND FRIEND IS BATTLING CANCER AND NEEDS OUR HELP
Richard DiNozzi, “Diz” or “Dino” to many of his friends, was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer just before Christmas last year. He has had 7 months of chemotherapy so far, and is determined to keep fighting for his life.
His cooking skills were legendary at many establishments including Eagle Brook Saloon, Lewis,' his own Pelican Pub, and Catman. He fed people who couldn’t pay and made others laugh. For the past 14 years he has worked for Mansfield Public Schools.
His grandsons, one eleven and one six, are counting on him to plant a garden with them next year. He has been looking forward to helping them grow into young men.
He cannot work, now, and his wife, Anne was forced to retire early to take care of him. His son, Nicki, helps with trips to the hospital. His co-workers and friends in Mansfield have been wonderful in their support. But, Dino grew up in Norwood and has always considered it his home. He seems to be on a first name basis with most of the people in town.
Dino and Anne are struggling to balance finances and stay in their house while he is continuing to undergo treatment. But the increased heating bills (he is cold all the time due to weight loss), co-pays, medical supplies, trips back and forth to the hospital in Boston every week have become a huge financial burden. If you can help, it would mean so much to him and his family.
