Equine Therapy for Foster Children

YOUR FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO SPONSORING A CHILD INTO THE EQUINE THERAPY PROGRAM. FUNDING IS NEEDED TO PROVIDE EQUIPMENT SUITED TO EACH RIDER, ENTRY FEES TO COMPETITION IF THE YOUTH SO DESIRES TO PURSUE, FOOD, CLOTHING AND ANY NEED OF THE YOUTH WHILE IN OUR CARE. SUPPLIES ARE ALSO NEEDED TO CARE FOR THE HORSES THAT PROVIDE A PEACE BEYOND THE CHARACTER OF ANY HUMAN BEING. TEACHING MATERIAL, INCLUDING BOOKS, JOURNALS, ETC. ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO EACH CHILD. NO FUNDING BENEFITS OUR VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF PERSONALLY, ON A FINANCIAL LEVEL.

Equine therapy creates a relationship between horse and child that teaches respect, leadership, communication, trust, confidence and a realization and awareness of self. Most times these traits cannot have opportunity to exist in the case of a child that has moved house to house with no real consistency in order, love and a trusting relationship with an adult. It has been found often that this type of trust cannot be reached through person to person interaction alone. We currently work with several local children's shelters providing not only therapy for emotional and psychological needs but can say the need for the healing, discipline and understanding of one's own emotional needs and how to cope with those is of utmost importance. Our volunteers are different in character and strengths and come together with a heart to serve the needs of the children we mentor. Your gift of any kind, goes to assist in teaching life skills that will affect the world to come.
