Criso's Medical Fund

My name is Jeff Miller.

On July 16th, 2017, I got into an accident that has me crippled under a mountain of debt --- on top of student loans, a recently bought home and a car to travel to work with, I attained medical bills.

I'm part of multiple artistic communities including some game developer communities.

I would like to offer drawing a piece of art for the largest donor; when I'm more recovered. I will be willing to draw whatever they wish ( with minor restrictions ).

The reason for this campaign is to pay for this freak accident.

I had decided to go out bicycling at a nearby metropark and nature reserve with a group of my friends.

What happened when we got to the park was somewhat unbelieveable. Within thirty minutes of the bike ride, my left handlebar fell completely  off - I don't mean that a weld broke or that it was rusted, I mean, the bike literally fell apart ( below ).

I don't remember this, because as soon as it happened I swerved, fell, got my leg caught in the bike, hit my head, was dragged a few yards by the bike and blacked out then had a full-on seizure in my friends arms as they came to assist me. The result? A paramedic arrived, loaded me in their vehicle and transported me to the hospital - scrapes, cuts, fractures, and all.

Now, this wasn't enough, they loaded me up with pain killers, scanned me, and racked up the dollars on my insurance. The only reason my insurance kicked in, was due to the seizure. So, seven grand later, I find out that I cannot go to work for the next four to six weeks (or potentially longer).

They've diagnosed me with two facial fractures, a spinal fracture at the Thorasic-Seven; my hands, right shoulder, right kneecap all sustained wounds down to the lowest layer of skin ( occassionally breaking through in some spots ), a chunk of my ear was taken out, I suffered a concussion (with minor Post-Concussion Syndrome), had my first seizure due to the accident and am now wearing a backbrace to keep my spine from bending or twisting.





The worst part about this is that I will not get disability pay. I cannot afford a lawyer and paying for a lawyer will not guarantee my getting paid. I work a full time gig for as a programmer. My extra time is spent making art for people and games - when I have the time.

I do not have nearly enough money to support medical bills, mortgage expenses ( I just bought a house, not a full month before ), car bills, etc.

Helping me with these medical bills will help alleviate the issues I will be dealing with shortly - it will keep a roof above my head, my pets heads, my girlfriends head...

My situation is a bit dire, with only a week or two in, I've still got at least three weeks more to deal with, as the doctors said that if my memory and spinal fractures do not improve in the amount of time they've specified, I'll be forced to stay home longer. I've only got a few hundred dollars left in my accounts and I'm quickly running out.
