Creating Smiles 4 Salvadoran Youth

Central American Refugee Committee (CRECE) is a grassroots organization, whose mission is to organize and educate the Latino immigrant community to improve its social, economic and cultural conditions. CRECE was created in 1990 to help Central Americans in the Bay Area and abroad. As an essential part of its mission, CRECE has adopted eleven rural communities in El Salvador. CRECE members visit these communities once a year for a few days and help coordinate donation of clothing, shoes, medicines, toys and school and sports supplies. Approximately 1,500 people benefit from this project.

We are launching this campaign in hopes of the raising funds that would pay for a Cargo Container we will be filling up with hospital and clinic material, shoes, clothes, school and dental supplies. These resources will strengthen community clinics in the rural and marginalized areas in El Salvador. This will benefit the Salvadoran communities that lack the presence of state hospitals and private clinics and most importantly, this will benefit almost 10,000 people. 


These funds will be utilized to pay for:

Cargo Container fee to be sent from Oakland, California to the port of Acajutla, El Salvador: $3400.00

Importation and Transporting fees to the different communities in El Salvador: $1600.00
