We are on a mission to rebuild broken neighborhoods. Help transform formerly condemned buildings in rough neighborhoods and give tenants the chance to invest in themselves through community gardens, fitness centers, and shared libraries.
Just 6 months ago, these buildings were crawling with vermin, deemed unlivable by the city, and a regular hot spot for police calls.

Why we need help
The cost of renovations to create clean, safe, secure communities and the conversion of units into amenity rooms exceeded our expectations and rather than go back on our promise of providing amenities to tenants we are reaching out for support.
Taking care of those who need it most is a sign of a truly resilient community - like Halifax. The renovations have created clean, safe and affordable home spaces for these tenants. Now let’s together put the finishing touches as a show of confidence from the community - a garden for the families to work on together and share, a small fitness room, a library of reading material for tenants to share.
With your help, we can go further faster and change the lives of even more people in the Halifax community.
$200 provides a unit with a lightly-used treadmill
$300 provides some well-kept furniture for a community room
$400 provides a garden with some tools, materials (wood, soil, etc.), seeds for planting
Amenity Room Sponsorship (Naming Rights)
If you cover the cost of a complete amenity room, we will name the room after you or a person of your choice. Also, we will send you photos from the Vida Team!

Vida milestones
Recently partnered with Immigrations Services Association of Nova Scotia to provide furnished units to newcomers to Canada (or Haligonians).
Partnered with local businesses to provide discounts on good and services in surrounding areas.
Pop-up shops in buildings to provide free haircuts to Vida Living tenants.
A dedicated team of building ambassadors who support tenant needs and community growth.
First full-time hire of a VIDA tenant, supporting the renovation of other buildings

With your contribution, we can have these free tenant amenity rooms finished in no time and it would mean the world to our community to have your support.
