Create a powerful force for good!
Help us launch iguacu to the world and be part of a whole new way of giving to those caught up in serious humanitarian crises.
Every day we hear more devastating news of people caught up in crises overseas.
We want to help, we want to make a difference, but we don’t know how.
When we go online there are so many causes, so many charities all saying similar things and it can be overwhelming to choose where and how we should donate. How do we know that our money will go to where they say it will go? Can this charity be trusted? Do they have the best knowledge on the ground? Are they truly effective where the needs are great?
We have so many questions and nowhere to find the answers.
At iguacu, weareiguacu.org, (igwah-soo!) we have built a trusted independent online platform that makes it quick and easy to donate with confidence.
Through rigorous research and investigation, iguacu identifies genuinely effective charities in areas of great humanitarian crises. With our team of dedicated researchers and a network of more than 900 experts we give you information that goes beyond the usual charity documentation and comparison websites so you can donate directly to where the need is greatest.
We Need Your Help!
The mission of iguacu is to make it easy for the public to help those in the greatest need around the world - effectively.
Our vision is to scale. But we've used up almost all our funds in its creation and we urgently need your help! to secure iguacu's future.
If you donate here to our crowdfunder today and share this page with a friend, you'll be directly helping to enable iguacu to continue its service and get off the ground. Your money will help pay for the running costs of iguacu (**see more below). The more we raise together, the more we can secure the foundations of iguacu, and grow the service - serving and empowering human compassion.
We're a genuinely independent and rigorous investigative service, and a lean and trusted non-profit (501c3). We find great charities in serious crises, so you can donate with confidence. If you see enormous suffering in the world, right now, you can do something about it at weareiguacu.org
As a donor to our Crowdfunding campaign you will have the option to join our exclusive Founders Community.
Our Founders receive regular updates on the impact our recommended charities are having on the ground, as well as the latest news on the regions in crises. Our Founding Community will be part of shaping the future of iguacu and creating a powerful force for good in the world. We also have plans afoot for local events led by iguacu volunteer Ambassadors. It's always a joy to meet people that care about the same things we do!
At iguacu, we stand up for the world’s most vulnerable people.
Join us! We urge you to donate now, and share this page!
Thank you for your great support!!
iguacu is an independent investigator, researching the world's serious crises on behalf of the public, informed by a worldwide network of more than 900 experts in 31 countries. We address the frustration the public feels when we wish to help people in great need, and can find it impossible online to choose from countless charities, many making similar claims.
iguacu is the only independent investigator of serious humanitarian crises serving the public that identifies highly effective charities working in the heart of the world's most severe crises.
iguacu goes way beyond the documents charities themselves publish. We conduct months long in-depth investigations involving an extensive network. We speak 1-to-1 with the people on the ground best placed to know which are the genuinely effective charities on the ground.
**We work remotely in 5 countries and our running costs are almost entirely the salaries of the research team (4 full-time and 1 part-time). The entire expert network give their time for no fee, as does our wonderful legal partner, Reed Smith USA /UK and our entire senior community.
We are registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in the USA and are currently registering as a charity in the UK. We'd best flag a slight and temporary diversity question - by chance rather than design, our Board in the USA and the UK , and our CEO and Founder, are currently all women! But we do make up for this imbalance in our Panel of Senior Advisors and research team. See weareiguacu.org to learn more about iguacu.

A quick update from the iguacu desk.
As we have not in the end reached a sufficiently high enough target, we've decided to stop this gofundme campaign, and you will receive a refund of your donation within 7-10 business days.
May I take this opportunity, on behalf of the iguacu community, to convey our warmest thanks to you for your generous support, and for standing up for what iguacu is all about.
Any questions at all, don't hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or our Finance Manager, Catherine Elliott, at email@example.com
