Cranial helmet for Averie Lane

We normally wouldn’t do this kind of thing , but our precious daughter has had a rough entrance into the world .  Our Averie has been diagnosed with sandifer syndrome , seizures , and some neurological motor skill delays that we have to see 4 different specialist for. Our daughter Averie has developed severe plagiocephaly and brachycephaly because the sandifer syndrome has caused all of her muscle to be so tight that she cannot turn her head properly . She has been hospitalized twice for 5-6 days each for failure to thrive , as well as going to specialist all the way in Cary , Durham , and Raleigh 1-3 times a week . Averie has been in physical therapy once a week and will continue until she is a year old , all the way in Cary , North Carolina . As a lot of you know Tricare will not cover cranial helmet because they believe it is cosmetic . However as stated in Averie’s evaluation she has a severe case that is threatening her brain development and we do not want to pursue surgical options. This would help us tremendously. This would take the strain of travel and the initial cost of getting the helmet made .This will cover the cost of the 2700$ helmet ( this is the discount for military ) and 300$ for Kylie and I to travel to Raleigh and Cary 1-3 times a week for the next ten months . All of Averie’s specialist are in the Raleigh / Durham / Cary area . We will have to travel 225-490 miles every week for the next ten months and do not qualify for travel reimbursement from Tricare because we had to change to Tricare select because of Averie’s special needs . We don’t expect for people to donate . But we appreciate anyone who does and for caring about our sweet girl . God Bless .
