St. Charles City Animal Control was hit by a very bad parvo outbreak approximately 2 weeks ago. Ten puppies and one adult dog came down with this deadly disease. Our total bill came to $10,830.94. Obviously, this is a very large bill that we cannot pay. We have already received word-of-mouth donations of $1,210, leaving a balance due and owing of $9,620.94. All but one angel puppy survived this deadly outbreak (RIP sweet Groot. We are so sorry we couldn't save your precious life), so it was money well spent, but we need help! PLEASE consider donating to Shelter Friends to help with this enormous sum! All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you so much! We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Elm Point Animal Hospital who bore the brunt of this outbreak and packed their quarantine unit with our precious babies! They worked night and day to save their lives and we can never thank them enough for going above and beyond in this crisis situation. Also, a huge thank you to Tender Care Animal Hospital and AVS for taking in 3 of our babies and saving their lives also!
