Support Plates Cafe and Catering

As you may have heard, Plates Cafe and Catering, a non-profit that supports homeless mothers with children based in Sacramento, fed the PRO franchise, Sacramento Express, during the 2016 season. The PRO organization refused to settle their tab and left an outstanding bill - $7,511.00 to be exact.
The response from the rugby community has been outstanding. One phenomenal donor has already contributed the vast majority of the money owed to Plates. But we like to go above and beyond. Please join us in bringing some holiday spirit to the lovely people at Plates and Saint John.
Here is our opportunity to leave a true impression of what our game and the people involved stand for.

The non-profit: Plates Cafe and Catering is a social enterprise of the Sacramento-based non profit organization, Saint John's Program for Real Change. The mission of Sait John's Program, Sacramento County's only non-profit focused exclusively on homeless mother with children, is to help homeless families to advance from a point of crisis to a position of independence and self-sufficiency. During Saint John's holistic 18-month program, confidence and hope are restored while independent living skills are developed and goals are set.
A program for formerly homeless mother with children, Plates Cafe and Catering is an innovative enterprise that provides women with a unique opporunity to learn valuable skills necessary to enter the culinary and service industries. Upon Completion of the Plates program, graduates are qualified for positions in the culinary, retail, and/or hospitality industries. Plates helps plave them into careers in these industries.
Plates has not asked us to set up this fundraiser.
