Cover costs of annual PVA benefit

Third Annual Paralyzed Veterans of America Benefit Event
The Miami Valley Music Men Barbershop Chorus and Quartets (singdayton.org) are holding our 3rd Annual benefit concert dedicated to helping paralyzed veterans in Ohio. All funds generated over costs will be donated to the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Buckeye Chapter
(buckeyepva.org).

I am co-chair for this event and the primary fund raiser for covering our costs.

Our first two concerts enabled us to give the chapter just under $5,000. This is a charitable event and as such, there are no ticket sales. All funds are received as donations made at the door, via our web site singdayton.org, sponsor donations, or this GoFundMe effort.

This year we are taking action to increase the funds going to the PVA by holding the event in Memorial Hall in down town Dayton, and including a headliner act, Phil Dirt and The Dozers (phildirt.com). Memorial Hall is a well-known and centrally situated venue. Holding the event within the Dayton city limits opens up several avenues for advertising. Phil Dirt and The Dozers are a very well known and followed 50s and 60s Rock and Roll band who draws large audiences across Ohio and neighboring states.

In the past we had a wonderful donated venue, and featured excellent and varied performers, all at no cost. While we had some limited success in generating funds for our donation to the PVA, we want to do better. We believe this year’s location and headliner will significantly impact attendance, but this year we will incur costs related to the venue and headliner act.

Based on our status as a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, the managers of Memorial Hall, and Phil Dirt and The Dozers, have given us substantial discounts over their normal costs. The remaining costs can be covered in two ways. The first is to cover them from the overall donations received at the door the day of the event. We are asking for a $20 adult/$10 child under 12 donation at the door. Total receipts minus costs leaves funds going to the PVA. The second way to cover costs is to obtain support from private and public sources, acting as sponsors, and donations received via this GoFundMe effort. These donations received will help cover:

Costs item Amount
• Venue rental - $2,500
• Venue support personnel (lighting, sound, event managers) - $ 776
• Venue table rental - $200
• Phil Dirt and The Dozers - $4,000
• Setup and breakdown crew - $100
• Advertising (mobile marque, flyers, programs, misc) - $200

Please help with your donation. We sincerely appreciate your help. Paralyzed veterans in Ohio deserve our support, and enabling The PVA Buckeye Chapter to fulfil its mission is a great way to do that.
