New Equipment for County EMS

Founded in 1982, County EMS is Minnesota's first rural based advanced life support ambulance service. It is a charitable, non-profit organization located in Fertile, Minnesota and has served the residents and visitors of over 600 square miles of exclusively rural Minnesota continuously since then. There is no hospital in the communities and townships we serve which makes our kind of mobile intensive care unit so important.
Although we take pride in the care and maintenance of our ambulances, it is time to replace two ambulances. Medic 14, a 1992 ambulance and Medic 15, a 1999 ambulance are being replaced by two new ambulances. We are keeping Medic 16 (a 2000 model year ambulance) as a back-up ambulance for those times when the new ones (Medic 17 and Medic 18) are in for preventative maintenance and when the demand for our emergency services is higher than normal.
Because of state and federal regulatory requirements and fast-paced technological improvements, the cost to replace the ambulances rises faster than our ability to save up for them. When we started in 1982, our first ambulance cost $40,000 (which was a lot of money for us then). The cost for a single new ambulance in 2018 is $195,000 and that excludes the lifesaving equipment that goes inside.
Your contribution will be used to help pay for new equipment to provide advanced life support emergency ambulance service.
County EMS is a tax-exempt, non-profit foundation. Our mission is to provide high-quality advanced life support emergency medical services and education and training for both the public and the firefighters, first responders and law enforcement officers in our service area. An important part of our operating budget depends on charitable donations. Donations to County EMS are tax-deductible according to state and federal tax laws. County EMS is registered with the State of Minnesota as a charitable organization. All funds donated here will be used for the new ambulances and patient care equipment used on the ambulances.
