December 29 2018 was a day that should have been spent relaxing and enjoying time with family. For the Rasar family it was one spent in the waiting room of Inland Valley Memorial waiting on any news or update on the status of Coty Rasar.
While on the way home from work Coty was blindsided by a hit and run driver while getting into his truck. When the initial call came in that he was in an accident there was some concern. That concern shortly turned into grave fear when it was learned he was not in his vehicle, but rather outside when he was struck. Based on the police report as well as eyewitness testimony it is estimated that Coty was hit somewhere between 45 and 55 miles per hour. In fact he was hit so hard that the force of him being thrown into his own truck caused all of his airbags to deploy. The driver sped away after running through my brother leaving him for dead. Were it not for the actions of a stranger stopping to render aid and call the police who knows where we may be now. As I write this Coty faces a long road to recovery as he still sits in the hospital nursing broken ribs, fractured spine, Innumerable staples in his head and body with many other things yet to be determined. This is going to greatly affect his family as he is now out of work and facing a mountain of medical bills caused by days of admission to the ICU and Telemetry unit. His family requests that if you are unable to donate please just share with as many people as possible. It is our hope that we are able to raise enough money to aid his wife Kathrine in maintaining the household and his children with all associated bills while Coty is out of work.
