Costume Con 36 Large Print Exhibit
Donation protected
For the past four years, I have been embarking on a labor-of-love project of photographing portraits of costumers in costumes and also in their "civilian attire" on an old-school 4x5 large-format film camera. The project is called Transformation:Cosplay (which you can see samples on my website richardmanphoto.com) and it has received much needed financial support from numerous donors and organizations.
My goal is to publish a book of the work this year, but before that, I have a more immediate goal: Costume Con 36 in San Diego (May 11-14) is givng me a room to showcase the photos and to continue the project. This is an exceptional generous offer by the concom.
My hope is that I can display at least 20+ prints in 24"x30" (EDITED: I have space and panels to display 60+ prints!), and a few at 44x50, and may be one or two at even larger sizes.
I can print the 24" prints myself and can get larger sizes printed at cost from benefactors. However, paper, inks, transporting them all cost money. So once again, I hope my friends and communities can rise up again. I know we all have expense and there are many worthwhile causes, but if you can spare a few dollars for this one, every single contribution helps, no matter how small.
Thank you.
