Coptic Relief Organization

   Archangel's Michael and Gabriel Coptic Relief Organization is a faith-based organization serving Egypt's seniors. Christian love is at the heart of all our service.
   Archangel's Michael and Gabriel Coptic Relief Organization was formed by Mohsen and Nevine Isaac and Miranda Gabriel.  The organization is dedicated to the memory of Hani Gabriel, who tragically passed away from colon cancer on January 27, 2013,at the young age of 44 after a five-year battle. Hani left behind his wife and two children. He was a man of faith and deacon at St Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church in Ambridge, PA.  While he was terminally ill, he mentioned a few times that if God were to heal him, he would leave his full-time job and give his service to the poor. He spoke of starting a foundation to help the poor and needy in his native  country Egypt.  Mohsen and Nevine, together with Hani's widow, Miranda, are working diligently to fulfill his dream and continue his legacy with the formation of this organization.
   The mission of Archangel's Michael and Gabriel is to improve the quality of life for those in need in Egypt by providing for their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs with companionship, prayer, food, housing, medical support, and by ensuring the seniors are treated with the dignity, respect, and compassion they deserve as God's children.
   In Egypt, the elderly are the fastest growing segment of the population and they are often the "forgotten ones."  In the past twenty years,the life expectancy of the average Egyptian has risen to the age of 71 from age 58. In 1986 five percent of the population in Egypt was 60 and older. In 2015, 11% of the population was 60 and older and in 2050 there will be 24 million people over the age of 60 in Egypt.  This will create a greater demand for services for the elderly, such as health insurance, pensions, hospitals, housing, and many others.
   According to the United Nations Institute of Aging, "There is a massive challenge for both the public and private sectors which will have to provide everything from wheelchair ramps to affordable health care plans."
   One of the most pressing issues facing the elderly is housing. Fifty years ago, households included large extended families, grandparents, parents, grandchildren, and other relatives living together in one house.  Today fewer Egyptians are opting to live with their parents after marriage.  Grandparents are often the "forgotten ones."  There is a lot of need there. 
   Archangels Michael and Gabriel is  501-c-3 non-profit and has already worked with other  charities in Egypt to develop housing in Egypt.  All donations will continue to provide even more desperately needed housing as well as food and medical support.
     With this money, we will be able to continue to fulfill Hani's legacy and to give aid that is so desperately needed for the elderly in Egypt.  Your support would be so truly appreciated.  God bless you.
