The recent horrors that just occurred in Baton Rouge, Dallas Texas and Orlando Florida has had an enormous effect on our first responders. The police and other first responders witnessed carnage that will stay with them the rest of their lives.
Not only are the Baton Rouge, Dallas and Orlando police affected, this event has triggered a relapse for those that witnessed similar events in Boston, San Bernadino, and even back to 9/11. We are now getting calls from all over and we trying to keep up with all the calls that are coming in. It seems like every week I am updating this page and adding another city to the list. This is not something that should be happening.
These horrible tragedies are going to continue. We need these brave men and women to be able to operate at their peak efficiency in order to keep the horror to a minimum. You’ve heard some of the stories from Dallas and Orlando. You’ve heard them from Boston and San Bernadino and Colorado and Sandy Hook. How much worse would it have been if our bravest did not step up in spite of the dangers to them and take control? And who has to sift through the carnage to help survivors and to search for evidence? The first responders!

COPLINE is a National hotline that has been a non-profit organization for over a decade. Our motto is "do it right, not fast". Due to the significant constraints of grants and federal funding, we have not put in any applications for such monies. After going live without any advertising, we have fielded calls from 28 states which have all been answered. The decision to set up this account is due to the significant increase in call volume over the past 6 months and we now need to train retired officers and get this line up and running. The world has changed and we need to let officers know that blue lives matter. We need to answer their calls just as they answer ours.
Copline is the first national hotline that will provide a safe, confidential place to call when there seems to be no one that understands the mindset of a cop.
COPLINE will be the first national law enforcement officers hotline in the country that will be manned by retired officers. These officers will be trained in active listening and have the knowledge and understanding of the many psychosocial stressors an officer goes through both on and off the job. Our goal is for an active officer and/or their families to speak to a trained, retired officer 24 hours and day, 7 days a week, the same hours our law enforcement officers work. The line is strictly confidential and there is no fear of punitive repercussions from making the call.
We are requesting your help in supporting COPLINE and the Law Enforcement community across the United States. These brave men and women protect and serve with honor and dignity, oftentimes paying a price psychologically that few will ever understand. Your tax deductable donation will go directly to the initial training of the volunteer retired officers who will be manning the lines and afford us the ability to launch Copline. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to having you as a partner to give back to a population that asks little but sacrifices a lot.
