Coomer Farm Devastating Barn Fire

Words can not describe the devastation we went through last night. A freak accident caused our beloved 100 year old barn to go up in flames. Yes, this was my chicken barn. We lost every single bird. Randall tried to get in to open coops but it was too hot too fast. The entire thing was gone in less than 30min. We saved the horses. They are with a dear friend. We lost everything we have worked for for 5 years. 150 chickens, 4 turkeys, all of our hay, saddles and tack. All of Randall's tools, our lawnmower. Our horse trailer. So much was lost. Most of you know we were working towards restoring the old barn. It was sound and needed a roof. Our insurance would not cover it because of the roof, therefore they would not cover anything inside. Years of memories, hard work and things that will never be replaced. A lesson learned. A hard one. But the house is fine. We are fine. The horses are fine. So much to be thankful for in the morning light. Not sure how but we will move forward.

We hsve no way to pay for a new barn, trailer or the large items in the barn. We have nothing left. Coomer Farm has served the poultry community for years providing quality poultry for pets, and 4h kids. We have provided riding lessons and education on livestock farming. Somehownwe will make it through this. We will rebuild.
