ABOUT US & OUR INSURANCE FUNDRAISER

Due to COVID-19 we have lost some long term advertisers. Our insurance is due in May and without fundraising we will not be able to pay it.

We're seeking funds to enable Coochie Island News to continue operation and provide local news.  Funds raised April-May 2020 will enable us to renew our media & business insurance.  Thank you to Friends of Coochie Island News who donated in 2019 which enabled us to pay our 2019 insurance.

~ WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR ANY CONTRIBUTION NO MATTER HOW SMALL ~
Any contribution will be gratefully received.  A small contribution from you can make a really big difference to us.

By making a donation of $50 or more you automatically become a member of Friends of the Coochie Island News:

*You'll get a thank you mention on our website as donating in 2020
*You'll be invited to a once-a-year get-together to meet other Friends and the creatives, contributors and community members featured in our paper
*You'll also have the satisfaction of helping to keep this highly valued community newspaper serving our community, which is impossible without adequate insurance.

ABOUT US

Coochie Island News  (CIN) is Brisbane's best independent print and online community newspaper. We're based on Coochiemudlo Island, a subtropical island nestled just off Victoria Point, Brisbane. We've been operating for over a year and enjoy high engagement from our Coochiemudlo Island and Redlands Coast communities.  We help connect community members to each other, especially older readers who are not on Facebook or online and who, without this paper, have felt increasingly disconnected from and unable to keep up with news about their own community.

1,000 black and white copies of this 20-page newspaper are printed and distributed  to 28 outlets  across the Redlands and CBD of Brisbane monthly, to newsagencies, supermarkets, convenience stores, cafes and bookstores. Additionally, CIN is available 24/7 in colour online, with around 400 downloads of each issue per month. Print and online copies are free.

Coochie Island News enables the small businesses, creatives, community groups and  island residents to share news, stories, events and information about products and services that benefit our community. We only publish positive, uplifting and inspiring content that highlights our strengths.

Thank you!   Take care, and stay well,

NB: GoFundMe seems to think postcode 4184 is Russell Island, but this newspaper is DEFINITELY based on Coochie :)
The 5 South Moreton Bay Islands share a postcode.  This is a Coochiemudlo Island newspaper.
