Controle the Reproduction End the Suffery

$18,492 of $18,750 goal

“END THE SUFFERY”
This is the motto and objective statement of our new campaign.
As you know our previous campaign “Germec Doggies” reached a success and throughout this campaign, we put aside about 20% of the funds to kick start this campaign.
We currently saved $3,000, which we dedicated to creation of a post-op recovery area for dogs, as well as the initial neutering of 10 stray dogs!
We believe that as volunteers, we must first show you that our intentions and objectives are clear, and we are willing to do anything transparently. We start the wave and your donations will strengthen it!
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS CAMPAIGN?
Stray animals in Turkey are born into a life of misery... In their very short lives they are left to fend themselves with many dying due to hunger, illness and abuse.
The authorities systematically capture dogs, dumping them in forests, leaving them to die of starvation.
We need to deal with the root cause of this issue and reduce the number of uncontrolled birth of puppies, thus reducing their numbers to a healthy baseline, so that they can maintain a long term sustainable population.
FACTS
An average female dog can have up to 2 litters in a year, with an average litter size of 6 puppies. One female and her babies, can theoretically create about 43000 puppies in six years. This is an exponential growth, and considering these puppies are not born into perfect conditions.
The new borns will be faced with hunger, illness, rough environmental conditions and human danger.
Thus we need to get ahead of this curve.
TARGETS
As you know, our volunteers are located in Turkey, thus this operation will be happening in Turkey. Due to currency exchange rate, for a very minute amount from our North America and Europe based donators, we can actually make a large impact.
To provide more information, the cost of neutering a single dog which includes:
Neutering operation
Post operation antibitics
Post operation immune booster medication
Post operation 1 week clinical observation period
comes to $65 USD.
The only vet in our area who accepts stray animals in his clinic  is willing to partake in this operation and looking forward to truly make an impact in this healthcare area.
As always, you have seen from our previous campaigns about how we care about transparency and honesty. Thus every single penny we receive through donations will be justified and kept track of. We provide regular updates about the fund allocations on this campaign page.
Our initial goal is to target the spaying/neutering 70 dogs. We already covered the cost of 10, thus your donations will empower us to help the remaining 60. For neutering sponsoring, simply donate $65 for each dog.
AS YOU KNOW FOOD, MEDICATION
AND CONTINUOUSLY USED RESOURCES ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR US. SO EVEN IF YOU CAN’T SPONSOR THE SPAYING OF A DOGGIE, YOU CAN STILL DONATE TO PROVIDE DRY AND WET FOOD SUPPORT.
Thank you so much for your time, support and kind hearts!

Dear supporters and donators,

This campaign is still currently active and we like to maintain it that way inorder to provide regular updates and progress information with you all.

With your support our Emergency Shelter construction efforts as well as the medically safe and proper neutering surgeries continue.

As a continuous effort, with a portion of your donations we have acquired dry food, medication and debt coverage to the vet clinics for the services they provide.

We thank you all for your support and would like to reiterate, OUR STRENGTH COMES FROM YOU!

Dear supporters and our true friends,

As you know our campaign for providing medically safe neutering has almost reached its goal. However, I keep our campaign page up and running in order for all of you to keep track with all the progress and update posts we put up.

With your support we are doing all we can to feed, medicate and protect the stray dogs so that their miserable lives became a bit more manageable. But know this, our power comes through your generosity!

An average stray dog only survives 6-7 years on the cruel streets. With you helps we try to make their lives a bit better and even rescue them off the streets and get them to a forever home!

If we list all our efforts, it would be as such:

1. In the month if May surgeries and medical treatments of 8 doggos in rough conditions were conducted. 9 dogs were neutered. In total we paid $4,300 for all these operations. We still owe $1,000 to the vet.

2. In the month of May and June, 720 kgs of dry food and 50 cans of preserved food was purchased. The food is being used to feed over 500 dogs. Apart from proper nutrition we also boil large batches of pasta and chicken, as well as collect leftovers from restaurants.

3. Finally, we have surrounded our emergency shelter with proper fencing. The dogs who are in need of care will be protected inside this safe zone. Now the next step for our shelter is to purchase the liveable container units.

I wanted to provide this update just to answer your questions of “What is happening to our donations?”

If you would like to get even more detailed answers, we would be happy to share our transactions with you. Feel free to contact us directly!

Our one final request would be to have your support on our “Emergency Shelter” campaign! It is important to have this safe haven for the dogs to be treated and to be nourished back to health!

Dear supporters, donators and kind hearted friends,

With your active engagement and donations we have gathered enough funds to run our neutering operations for some time, ensuring medical safety and health of the animals who are undergoing the process.

Although we have reached our goals I’m not ending this campaign so we can continue to update you all on the number of operations administered.

As I mentioned in my previous updates we have three main goals for the strays in this underdeveloped area in Turkey;
- To feed these poor animals,
- To spay/neuter them to control the population growth,
- To build an Emergency Shelter/Station for the sick doggies that need proper care and medication, for doggies recovering from castration surgeries, for disabled doggies who can’t survive on streets and for abandoned puppies until vaccinations are completed.

We were spending every penny very carefully and we were making savements to pursue our goal of an Emergency Shelter.

In May 7th we were able buy a land for the shelter! Yes we did it! Now we have a 5800 square meter land with an artesian well and a huge water tank with a capacity of 10 tons.

We made the measurements of the borders of the land and registered to cadastre. Next week we’re starting with fencing and we’ll proceed with building infrastructure and basic facilities as long as we have funds. (*Please see the photos)

We started a GoFundMe campaign for Shelter Expenses;
https://www.gofundme.com/dumpster-doggies-shelter-expenses .

Please keep supporting our new campaign because as volunteers we are only as strong as our donators. But knowing that there are kind people like you out there shows us that we are not alone and we will continue to work hard and selflessly for the need of these stray animals.

Thank you all!
Dr. Ender Selcuk DDS Ph.D

Notes:
I’m sharing photo collages of our Shelter Land and Vet invoices of April and May for castrations and medical treatments of doggies.
We also bought 800kg of food in the past two moths, I’ll put the photos in my next update.0
