ORIGINAL POST
My son Connor
is a 22 year old caring and generous young man who loves his family, his country, fishing, outdoors and animals.   He works for Desert Lumber, USLBM in Las Vegas Nevada with his brother and Dad.  He has been learning the lumber business, working from the outside in.  Connor was just moving to a position inside of the office when the unthinkable happened.

He has always been a healthy, strong young man but on a Friday evening late February, he had a strange pain in his chest and discomfort breathing deeply.  The next day, after a visit to 2 Quick Care centers and 6 hours in a hospital emergency room, he was told he had 2 masses in his chest.  The masses were between his lungs, in front of his heart, behind his breast bone.

Within the next two weeks, in March of 2018 Connor had seen an oncologist and found himself hospitalized for immediate surgery.  One of the masses was growing into his pericardium (the sack around his heart).  His surgeon removed it all, including part of the sack around his heart, and put in a patch.   Further testing from a Bone Marrow Biopsy showed Connor had Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  The 'Acute' in that name, means it grows and spreads very quickly.

The tumors in his chest had just been a symptom.  Only a few days out of the hospital from the open chest surgery and Connor was back in the hospital for a 30 day stay to start his first round of chemotherapy.... then a second... and then a third.....

Three months later, after 80 days living in a hospital and after 4 rounds of chemotherapy, Connor has finally (and thankfully) achieved remission.  But this isn't the end of his battle, it's just the beginning.  A long road still lies ahead.  Connor has to have a Bone Marrow Transplant in order to have a chance at kicking this disease.  His brother Devin, who also works for Desert Lumber, is his 10/10 match, "as good as it gets" according to his doctor.

Now, the beginning of July, he begins a 100 day stay in California at City of Hope, 262 miles from home.   30 of those days will be in hospital but then we must stay close and will live near the hospital for 2 additional months.  I will stay with him but we will away from home for three long months with all the stress and expense that requires.  Additionally, because Devin is his donor, he has to come down for 10 days to prepare for the donation.  Connor is responsible for Devin's expenses as well.   Jim (Connor's dad) will be traveling from Las Vegas every weekend to Connor and I.  He will have to rent motel rooms every weekend in order to see Connor through this fight.

Connor's health insurance only covers a portion of his expenses associated with his stay in California and he has already had many expenses including insurance out-of-pocket expenses, copays, medicines and numerous trips to and from California that he has already had to make (gas, lodging, food).

Any amount we can raise here will help Connor and our family with the growing financial drain of this battle.

If you know Connor...If you're a friend or relative of our family... If you just want to help ......Please help support Connor by making a donation and then sharing it to other people who might be able to help.

No donation is too small! Any amount helps Connor!   Every donation is appreciated more than you can imagine and goes directly to Connor to help him and his family through this horrible time.
