Connor's JUILLIARD Fundraiser

Hello everyone! The deadline for Glenn Gould School has come today and they have given me an incredible deal. Today I sent in my confirmation email that I will be attending their school in the fall. They only had one opening for horn and I was chosen as their first pick. After weighing the two offers, I determined Glenn Gould to be the better option for me. I am very grateful to all my donors for their generous support! All donations will be used towards paying for my education in Toronto! My name is Connor Augusto and I am a 17-year-old horn player from a small town in Manitoba, Canada. I have been accepted to study in New York at Juilliard, the best music school in the world!  But, I won’t be able to go there without some help.  Although Juilliard has offered me a very generous scholarship, the remaining tuition and living costs will be just over $40,000 CAD per year. There are few outside grants or scholarships available to international students, and living in New York is expensive!   Coming from rural Manitoba, it is mind boggling that all of this might be possible for me. To my knowledge I am the only brass player from Manitoba to ever have been admitted to Juilliard. I have been very successful in my musical journey so far. This year will be my second year touring with the National Youth Band of Canada, and I've been accepted into the Manitoba Provincial Honour Band 8 times. In the summer of 2017, I participated in L'Orchestre des Jeunes du 150e du Canada in Ottawa, a summer program celebrating Canada's 150th birthday. I have been involved with the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras for 5 years.   I also got accepted with scholarship to the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. If I am unsuccessful in raising enough money to go to Juilliard, my top choice, your donation will help me to go to the Glenn Gould School, another great place to study.
