Hey Everyone,Let's Make Armond A Doctor!

Donation protected

Hello! My name is Armond Dorsey and I am currently an incoming sophomore. I have some very exciting news! I have been nominated for academic recognition as an Honoree and Scholar representing Suitland High School and the State of Maryland at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders to be held on February 14-16, 2014, in Washington, D.C.! I am being nationally recognized for my outstanding academic record (I received a cumulative G.P.A.of 4.0 my freshman year of high school), leadership potential, and my desire to the profession of medicine as a physician. As you can see, I have already been making some progress as I am the very first ever Honoree of the Week of the Congress of Future Medical Leaders!
I specifically aspire to be an endovascular neurosurgeon.
The Congress of Future Medical Leaders is sponsored by The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, a bi-partisan, taxpaying educational organization, chartered to support all young people seeking careers as doctors or medical scientists. The National Academy of Future Physicians is an academic honors program that requires member to have a minimum G.P.A of a 3.5. Only 3,000 of the top high school students in the country were invited to the Congress; I will be one of the first members of the National Academy of Future Physicians and I will remain a member for life. As you can see, this is a great honor indeed. At the Congress, I will get to meet the deans of Ivy League schools, Nobel Peace Prize winners, award winning young inventors and scientists, college admissions officers, leaders of medicine, medical futurists, and a wide range of future medical technology. I will also be able to watch a live surgery and ask the surgeon questions in real time. In addition, I will also be eligible to compete for a full medical school tuition of up to $185,000; I am determined to win this scholarship because I am determined to fulfill my goals. There will also be two $10,000 runner-up scholarships.
This is an opportunity that I simply cannot pass up, as it is truly a once in a lifetime experience. The cost of tuition, speakers, the award, other activities, and concierge services provided by the NAFP (not to mention that GoFundMe takes a cut of the funds) are the matters that are being funded in this fundraiser. As my family is experiencing a bit of financial difficulty at the moment, I will need some assistance in funding my trip; as I have single mother who does everything for me, but the tuition is just too high for her to pay for herself. Any donation of any amount is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your consideration, understanding, patronage, and your time. :D : ) :3

A Little More About Me... :3

I am 14-years-old and I have received honor roll every quarter, of each school year ever since the 5th grade. I have always been in honors classes and I have even skipped the 7th grade. I am currently an incoming sophomore. I will be taking AP Biology and honors chemistry this year. That's right! I will be taking two sciences this year! Not to mention that I will be taking the SAT this year (for the first time) and I am aiming for a 2200. I will take at least 10 AP classes before I graduate high school. I am 1st chair clarinet at my school and I have received two superior ratings at both the county solo and ensemble and the state solo and ensemble. I am the president of the Spanish Club, a member of the It's Academic team (airs on NBC channel 4), and the clarinet section leader of the marching band. My current G.P.A. is a 4.0. As you can see, I am doing many great things and I it is only my second year in high school! I have even greater dreams at that. I aspire to attend Harvard University with a dual enrollment in the New England Conservatory. I will major in Neurobiology and Woodwind Performance. After college and medical school, I will be an endovascualar neurosurgeon and I will do some gigs here and there. Science and music are my passions and I will follow my dreams.
