About Japanese Cultural Society(JCS)
Japanese Cultural Society (JCS) has been organizing the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival at the Oregon State Capital, performing for Sakura Matsuri at Willamette University, World Beat Festival and other Cultural events in the Willamette Valley and beyond.
Our driving force is to enrich our community by sharing Japanese cultural heritage and its beauty. Since we started JCS as community group in 2010 our organization has thrived. We have been working on the next step as an organization by filing for 501 (c)(3) tax exemption status!
JCSについて
Japanese Cultural Society（通称JCS)は、オレゴン州議会議事堂および、ウィラメット大学の桜祭り、ワールドビートなどウィラメットバレーその周辺地域において様々な文化イベントを主宰してきました。日本の伝統文化とその美しさをコミュニティのみなさんと共有することで、お互いの理解を深め人生を豊かにしていくことが全ての原動力になっています。２０１０年にJCSを立ち上げて以来、JCSは少しずつ成長を続け現在、税の優遇措置が受けられるNPOとして、501条(c)項(3)号団体に申請中です。
Our first community space " Blossom" !
In order to grow and reach more people, we have decided to open a community space in Salem named “Blossom” located at Tiga restaurant in downtown Salem. It gives us a place to gather for various classes, such as Japanese calligraphy, music, art and language.
We will also serve Japanese food, drink and sweets in the future.
わたしたちの初めてのコミュニティスペース「ブロッサム」！
より多くの人々に私たちの思いを届け、またコミュニティを大きく成長させるために、セーラムのダウンタウンにある日本食レストラン”Tiga"の一角をお借りして、 "Blossom"という名前のコミュニティスペースを開くことにしました。
ここでは、日本の書道、音楽、芸術、言語などのさまざまなクラスを開催。将来的にはお食事やドリンク、スィーツの提供も検討しています。コミュニティの皆さまに気軽に日本文化や伝統に触れていただく機会を提供し、オレゴンにおける日本文化交流、次世代への文化継承・教育、暮らしとビジネスのサポート拠点を目指します。
Support to Keep Us Going!
Your valuable contribution will keep us going to expand and maintain JCS as NPO. Administrative cost, including professional advice for business planning, website and media fees, office supplies, expenses for participating related events, and education for members, such as food handler certifications.
この活動を続けるためのサポートを！
みなさまのご寄付はコミュニティスペース「ブロッサム」の運営に充てられます。
主に、スペースの賃貸料、店の陳列棚など什器の購入、店舗の清掃用品、看板やフライヤーの作成、装飾用品。
日本から取り寄せた雑貨や小物、色々な着物に加え、着物を着て写真が撮影できる背景付のフォトブースの購入。
各クラス運営の経費にも充てさせて頂きます。
Your contribution will help us pay for our community space, “Blossom.”
We mostly ask contributions for this portion, such as rent, purchasing display shelves for the store, making banners and flyers, cleaning materials, decorations, merchandise products from Japan, including various types of kimonos and backdrops for our photo booth, and fees for hiring instructors for classes and labors for the other services.
また、JCSをNPOとして成長させ、維持するためにも使われます。
例えば、専門家からのアドバイスなども含めた組織の管理運営のための経費、ウェブサイトやメディアへの支払い、事務用品、イベント参加のための経費、および食品取扱者の認定に係るコストなどに使わせて頂きます。
In the future...
We’d like to provide Japanese food to schools and hospital as well as establishing educational institute for future generations. We'd like to be the center for extensive food service and education in Salem!

将来的には学校や病院に日本食を提供し、次世代のために教育機関を設立したいと考えています。セーラムでの食品サービスと教育の中心地を目指しています。
