Community Self-Defense

Over the past couple of weeks,  Portland's queer community has been subjected to a wave of unprovoked violence.  Random attacks have taken the forms of drive by verbal harassment and objects thrown with force to assaults with blunt objects. People have been hospitalized and traumatized, yet the police deny the scope of these attacks.

All of those attacked were sought out because of a perceived queer identity. These attacks are motivated by hate. While the police drag their feet in responding to this crisis, our community is in danger every day. It is up to us to defend ourselves, as we know historically how little the police care about the queer community.  

All funds raised will go directly to self-defense equipment and training for Portland's queer community. We call on everyone, but especially hetero allies, to show your support by pitching in on this community effort.
