Community Radio for Newark Delaware

Donation protected
Turns out that a Community radio station is a group of people.

Essentially, we are Thinkers. Open-minded. Inquisitive. We've banded together to build Newark a meaningful FM radio station.

To give you and your organization, hobby, business, charity, mission, activity or artistic effort local visibility.

Every day there are 10,000 wonderful things happening in Newark.  We want to teach you how to broadcast so you can get on the radio and tell us about them.

We're just getting underway.  We have until February 7th, 2017, to fund and build this station.

We already have the transmitter, Emergency Alert System receivers, cables, telephone pole, and so on.  We also have the kind permission of the University of Delaware to use the STAR Campus for our transmitter site.

What we need is $5,210 to set up the pole, raise the antenna, and install the transmitter.

Curating quality content, obtaining permission, preparing the audio, scheduling and merging stories, contacting scientists, interviewing authors and researchers, producing and editing stories, working with sponsors, supporters, and volunteers, building a new FM community radio -- these are a full-time jobs!

This is your chance to lend a hand. We are very grateful for your help.

Newark Community Radio Inc is an IRS-recognized 501(c) "educational broadcast service."  Your donations are tax-deductible.

Anyone can turn on a radio.

But that simple act is so powerful. Radio reveals, informs, enlightens, amuses, and entertains us.

Do you have a car? Then you have a radio. That's how important radio is. EVERY CAR HAS A RADIO.

But Newark has no radio STATION.  No voice of its own.  We're missing out on 10,000 wonderful things that are happening in Newark every day.

UNTIL NOW.  Because Newark Community Radio is building a new kind of radio station.  Do you want to help with that?

A station where citizen journalists tell our own stories. About our hobbies, ministries, businesses, activities, sports, kids, events, organizations, grandparents... This radio station is open to anyone who gets trained. Can you tell a story?

It will cost $5,210 to raise the pole, mast, antenna, and wire-up the transmitter.  The transmitter will be located on the University of Delaware STAR Campus.

Radio Newark is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) educational broadcast service. So your donation is tax-deductible.

Do you want to feel good today? Donate to Radio Newark.

We're serious about getting you trained for this work. We've written, edited, and illustrated a classy How To Broadcast Handbook. You'll get a copy at the next training session. Once you've been through the class, you'll have the basics of radio journalism.

The next How To Broadcast class will be late February at Newark Natural Foods.

Get your credit card out and make a donation.  That's the best way to get on the mailing list for the next class. DO SOMETHING to help this station come to life!

You'll be able to talk about what is going on in your backyard. The things that matter to you. The way you want the story to sound because you'll craft it yourself -- we'll show you how.

Like I said, this is a different kind of radio station. It's LISTEN Radio, not Talk Radio®.
